What and Why?
Golf (From Wikipedia): Golf is a club and ball sport in which players use various clubs to hit balls into a series of holes on a course in as few strokes as possible.
Yea it’s that.. and a helluva lot more! More time, more money, more frustration.
But, when you get that one shot, the hypnotic smack when you match clubhead to golfball that just sounds perfect… you feel… and know… it’s correct. And watch as that little irritating white ball soars up high, holds as if wondering where it will land, and bam, there, right next to the hole… that’s your shot. That is seriously intoxicating.
It’s why, perhaps a little bit crazily, Daniel Björk and Colin Williams have decided to embark on a quest. A quest to play all golf courses in The Netherlands… all 220 of ’em!
It’s going to take awhile, and probably cause a fair bit of frustration, but hopefully also an amazing amount of fun. So join us on our travels as we embark on: The Dutch golf Quest!
Who are these guys?
Daniel Björk is a former ice hockey player who picked up golf in 2010 and is now a single digit handicapper (4.5 at the start of all this). He hails from Sweden but makes his home in North Holland, owns his own company, loves his family… oh and he plays a lot of golf.
Colin Williams thought golf was insane for most of his life until the year of 2014, realising that a walk among beautiful trees while basically playing pool is a good thing, he quickly fell in love with the sport. And while his handicap of 16.7 is not too bad, it is actually about 10 strokes better than he ever would have dreamed.
