Golfclub Dirkshorn is a tough course!
An inland links course (with some water hazards 🙂 ) which seems to be located in some kind of a magic vortex area where there’s always a lot of wind…
A long course that makes you reach for your woods so often that you after a while start to consider not putting your head cover back on them.
Having to hit that little ball more than 400 meters to reach the green on a par 4, and with wind in your face, can certainly frustrate even the long hitters amongst us.
But this is exactly where the course designer nailed it!
Playing the course forces good players to start trying to manipulate the ball flight.
Less good players are forced to calm down their swing to keep that slice under controle.
Well maintained and very undulated fairways and greens adds even more to the links feel.
And this is where Golfclub Dirkshorn stands out as a golfing experience.
It’s located in the middle of the Dutch “Polder” but it certainly does not feel like it.
The clubhouse is cozy, staff is very helpful and gladly light the fireplace for you if you are cold.
Unfortunately we did not have the opportunity to try the practice facilities, they are supposed to be very good.
Golfclub Dirkshorn is a course you definitely have to play if you have the chance.
Try to find a day when there’s no wind, at Golfclub Dirkshorn it will be close to storm…
